Hangdog Days Presentation & Book Signing
Join us as we welcome climbing author Jeff Smoot to share stories and images from his new memoir “Hangdog Days: Conflict, Change, and the Race for 5.14” which chronicles the era of the late 70s and 80s when rock climbing exploded in popularity, attracting a new generation of talented climbers eager to reach new heights via harder routes and faster ascents. This contentious, often humorous period gave rise to sport climbing, climbing gyms, and competitive climbing indelibly changing the culture of the sport, transforming it into what we know today.
April 25th from 7pm to 8:30pm. Free for members, guests welcome with a day pass.
2019 Front Bouldering League
Gather your climbing crew and get ready to throw down for glory, prizes, and some friendly competition! Our annual Bouldering League starts on May 7th and runs for 6 weeks. Every Tuesday afternoon, 20 new boulder problems ranging from 100 points (easiest) to 2000 points (hardest) will be set and labeled for the league. Each week, you’ll tally up your top scores and at the end of the league, we’ll announce the 2019 champions! The champs will have their photos featured on our brand new Bouldering League Hall of Fame, bragging rights for 12 months, and will go home with special prizes!
League starts May 7th (must sign up by April 30th) | $125 for a team of 4-5 people
